Mid-February 1998- Weather Wonder

The weather here is soooo good. The world-wide forecasts got it wrong, they said it would be 16 degrees, but it's 20. T-Shirt weather it is. And it's so sunny. I heard yesterday that there wasn't a single cloud over the whole of Japan. Finding this difficult to believe, I checked out a satellite picture on the WEB, and sure enough, no clouds. This is a work weekend, which is a damn shame. My end of term exams started on Thursday, but I still have 3 left for Monday and Tuesday. I've had the Kanji one, which wasn't too bad. I didn't think I'd ever say that, but it's true. This term's work has been quite good - I certainly worked, which always helps.

I'm in such a good mood, it's the second day of good weather, I had a party on Tuesday (late room-warming, early pan-cake day party) where 12 people came to my tiny room. There wasn't room for anyone to sit down, 5 people standing on the bed, 2 on the desk and the rest very "very cosy" on the floor. It was such a lot of fun. To be repeated. This morning, I found out that I'm going skiing on Wednesday for 3 days. It's a group thingy, so it's really cheap. I might try snow-boarding, but at the same time, it would be dreadful timing to break something. Ooh, I don't know what to do. To snow-board or not to snow-board? I'm too hot! The sun is shining through the window...... it's like a green-house in my room. I've run out of juice, I don't have enough money on me to be able to ask the super market to deliver. I'm going to have to go and get some money and buy it myself. So I'm going to have to get off my lazy back-side, and get out of PJ's and trapse down to the shops. It's a hard life. It's amazing that the convience shops deliver, even for just a pack of cigarettes! It only costs 300 yen for delivery (one pound fifty).

Well hope all is well….
